Since August 2005 there has been a reconsideration of the
strategic intent of mission work in Soshanguve. The first session
included all stakeholders from Pretoria, Soshanguve and Mamelodi. The
purpose of the session was to identify possible objectives for future
mission work. From the more than 40 objectives, 7 possible
challenging statements were derived and discussed with the MB members
individually and also with all the stakeholders, including a
delegation from the Netherlands.
These 7 statements will determine the direction for mission work
within the next 5-10 years. The statements discuss issues surrounding
expansion of mission work, manpower and the financial
responsibilities of all mission churches. The statements will now be
captured into a strategic plan which will be tabled for agreement at
a church council meeting. Derived from the strategic plan, all
operational plans will be developed. Watch this space – as soon as
the strategic plan has been approved, it will be uploaded to the
site...
To coordinate the work in Soshanguve the Soshanguve Workers Team
was created which consists of Reverends Jerry Mhlanga, Pieter Boon,
the students George Mnisi, Thabo Matlaela and John Mahlangu as well
as Hilko Lubbinge as representative from the MB and Reverend Piet
Magagula fom the FRC Soshanguve North. The Workers Team get together
to discuss issues such as home visits, sermons and catechism. The
meetings are led by the students in order to ensure the appropriate
transfer of christian leadership qualities
